Atheist,
James Westfall asks: “How exactly do you think you will feel in heaven
knowing that billions of humans are writhing and squirming in the pits
of hell for eternity? Undoubtedly, some of those humans will be close
friends and loved ones. Maybe even parents or children. Will god just
erase those people from your memory? Do you think you can simultaneously
know that loved ones are being tortured AND experience no sorrow?”
A similar question was asked of Jesus. The skeptics of His day gave a
scenario about a woman who had seven husbands. The first died, right up
to the seventh. Their “gotcha” question was “Whose wife would she be in
Heaven?” The answer Jesus gave stopped their thoughtless mouths. He said
that they were greatly in error because they didn’t know the Scriptures
nor did they know the power of God. An atheist denies his intuitive
knowledge of God, doesn’t believe the Scriptures, and is left in his
willful error. However, those who know the power of God know that He
spoke everything into existence, and that “with God, nothing is
impossible.” This amazing creation we see all around us is in a “fallen”
state. If He made everything in this life (and we aren't seeing it as
the Eden it should be), He can handle the minor details in the next.
